We recommend travelling in and out of Dublin Airport (DUB). It is the easiest airport with the most flight options. It’s about 2 hours to Galway, but extremely accessible by public transportation. There is a CityLink bus from the airport to downtown Galway, or the Irish Rail train from City Centre. You can, also, rent a car from any of the airport vendors and drive from Dublin to Galway.

Additionally, Shannon Airport (SNN) is closest to Galway but flights there are commonly seasonable, providing less options for December.

Reception Venue

This will be the most convenient hotel location, as it's the venue for the reception. It's centrally located at the top of Eyre Square and is connected to the train and bus station.

Any hotel in the Eyre Square area will be walkable to the church, venue and all local spots (Shop Street), but we recommend The Dean or The Leonardo.

For larger groups, there are some AirBnB's available in Galway City. We recommend looking near the Claddagh area, Eyre Square, Spanish Arch or the Docks.
